1. To be eligible for Fast Track to Star Alliance Gold Status, you must apply and be approved for a new HSBC Star Alliance Credit Card and spend $4,000 on eligible purchases within the first 90 days from account opening. Star Alliance Gold status is granted through the corresponding status tier in the Frequent Flyer Program (FFP) of the participating Star Alliance Member Airline you nominate as your Status Airline through the Star Alliance Rewards Program. Refer to the 
Star Alliance Rewards Terms and Conditions for available status tiers and additional terms and conditions. Status will be granted within 30 days after reaching the qualifying spend of $4,000, provided that your account is active and not in arrears. Your status will be granted until the first anniversary of your account opening or earlier, if you qualify for a higher status with your selected Frequent Flyer Program by any means. You may not be able to receive Star Alliance Gold status with a participating Frequent Flyer Program if you already hold, by any means, an equivalent or higher status with that Program (more information available on the Star Alliance Rewards Terms and Conditions). You may only request status with one participating Frequent Flyer Program each time you qualify and may not switch Programs during the duration of that status. Any status granted under the HSBC Star Alliance Credit Card is withdrawn immediately if you close your HSBC Star Alliance Credit Card account. Offer is limited to new applicants only. 8. Retaining Star Alliance Gold Status: You must spend at least $60,000 on eligible purchases in each 12-month period starting from account opening. Eligible purchases exclude interest free and other promotions, balance transfers, cash transfers, business expenses, cash advances, fees and charges, BPAY®, any disputed transactions and government fees and charges. Generally, your status will be granted for at least 12 months or less if you qualify, by any means, for a higher status tier with your selected Frequent Flyer Program. Exceptions apply, please refer to the 
Star Alliance Rewards Terms and Conditions. The start date of your status may differ depending on the Frequent Flyer Program you select and may not be until the next anniversary of the opening of your card account (more information available on the Star Alliance Rewards Terms and Conditions). You may only request status with one participating Frequent Flyer Program each time you qualify and may not switch Programs during the duration of that status, or any status earned in the same qualification year. Status will not be granted unless your account is active and not in arrears. You may not be able to receive Star Alliance Gold status with a participating Frequent Flyer Program if you already hold, by any means, an equivalent or higher status with that Program (more information available on the Star Alliance Rewards Terms and Conditions). Upon qualification under this option, these rules apply instead of those of the Fast Track to Star Alliance Gold welcome offer.
9. Star Alliance Points are earned in accordance with and are subject to 
HSBC Star Alliance Rewards Terms and Conditions. No points are earned on interest free and other promotions, Balance Transfers, business expenses, cash advances, fees and charges, any disputed transactions, BPAY® and any government fee or charge. Membership, and the earning and redemption of points is subject to the terms and conditions of Star Alliance Rewards available here. Earn 1 Star Alliance Point per $1 spent up to $3,000 per statement period on eligible purchases made in Australia and overseas. Every $1 spent thereafter will earn 0.5 Star Alliance Points per statement period. The earning of Star Alliance Points is uncapped.

11. The Annual Fee will be $0 in the first year, then $450 in subsequent years and is subject to change. Therefore, the first annual fee will be debited on the 12-month anniversary of the first transaction on your account and annually thereafter. $0 Annual Fee in the first year does not apply to existing HSBC customers transferring from another HSBC credit card.
12. Any outstanding balance at the end of the 6-month promotional period reverts to the standard variable purchase rate (currently 19.99% p.a.). Only applicable for purchases made directly through one of the following participating airlines' websites:

13. To be eligible for the introductory Balance Transfer interest rate, the Balance Transfer request must be made when applying for the new HSBC credit card and must be from non-HSBC credit cards. The total balance transfer amount must not exceed 90% of your approved credit limit. For the HSBC Star Alliance Credit Card, the introductory interest rate on the Balance Transfer applies for 12 months from the day the Balance Transfer has posted. After this period, any balance outstanding will accrue interest at the current variable cash advance rate (currently 21.99% p.a.). HSBC will allocate payments we receive from you to pay off the portion of your balance which attracts the highest interest rate first, and then to portions of your balance that attract lower interest rates. This may mean applying all payments made to your Star Alliance Credit Card account to pay off other transactions such as purchases and cash advances before any balance transfer amount.
14. The Balance Transfer Fee will be calculated at 2% of the balance being transferred to your HSBC credit card account. This fee is applied at the time the balance is transferred and forms part of the total outstanding balance.
